The Team

Three people with direct construction safety and computer vision experience. No MBAs. No platform evangelists. Just engineers who've been on jobsites.

Jake Morrison

Jake Morrison

CEO & Co-Founder

Six years as a construction safety engineer on commercial high-rise and industrial projects in Texas and Louisiana. Holds a CSP (Certified Safety Professional) credential and completed OSHA 500 instructor training. Previously safety director at a mid-size GC managing 14 active sites simultaneously. Led the original PPE detection research that became HardHat Pulse's core model.

Daniel Reeves

Daniel Reeves

CTO & Co-Founder

Five years building computer vision systems at an autonomous vehicle startup — specifically the pedestrian and cyclist detection pipeline that ran on embedded hardware in production vehicles. B.S. and M.S. in computer engineering from UT Austin. Designed the YOLOv8 fine-tuning approach and the edge inference architecture that lets HardHat Pulse run 48 streams on a single NVIDIA Jetson node.

Priya Nair

Priya Nair

Head of Product

Previously a product manager at a construction management SaaS company where she owned the field reporting module used by 400+ general contractors. Brings direct knowledge of how GC operations teams review safety data and what slows down OSHA 300 compliance workflows. Designed the HardHat Pulse supervisor dashboard based on 47 structured interviews with site foremen and safety coordinators.

Small team, real constraints

Being small lets us move fast and make decisions without committee approval. It also means we're honest about what we can commit to.

3

Full-time founders. No bloated team structure. Everyone ships product and talks to customers.

12

Active pilot sites across Texas and Louisiana as of Q4 2024. Every one of us has been on at least two of them.

Houston

Based in Houston, TX. One of the most active construction markets in the U.S. — we have no shortage of pilot opportunities.

What we look for

When we hire, we prioritize people who can spend a full day on an active construction site and a full day writing code or reviewing model outputs. Domain context isn't optional at this stage — we can't afford to explain jobsite dynamics to every new hire.

We're not currently hiring, but we're worth watching. When we do open roles, they'll go to people with specific construction operations or embedded systems backgrounds. Check back or reach out directly.

Get in Touch

Roles we'd consider

  • Embedded systems engineer (BLE / RTOS / Jetson)
  • Computer vision engineer (YOLOv8 / multi-camera tracking)
  • Field implementation specialist (construction background preferred)
  • Full-stack engineer (Python / React / PostgreSQL)
